Provincial and Regional

American bullfrogs have been thriving in British Columbia since they were first brought here over 130 years ago. They are now common in the vicinity of Vancouver, and the Lower Fraser Valley in the southwest corner of British Columbia (where they were first released), and on southern and central Vancouver Island (in the last 60 years). They are now established on several islands in the Strait of Georgia in southwestern British Columbia and at Osoyoos Lake in the southern Dry Interior. Other records exist from across the southern part of this province but need to be verified.
